South Pole 2025 net zero report

Published 10 April 2025, South Pole's net zero 2025 report surveyed 350 financial institutions to better understand how businesses are progressing towards their targets.

The report finds:
- 86% of the surveyed respondents say they are "on track" or "partially on track" to meet to their climate goals. Of particular interest were the the Americas, out of which 93% were reported "on track" or "partially on track," despite a reported lack of regulation and progress from portfolio companies and client.
- 55% of institutions cite a lack of clear industry-specific guidance as a major limitation.
- "Ignoring climate risk is no longer an option; it has become a financial imperative shaped by evolving market opportunities."
