Rising to the challenge: is your net zero plan fit for purpose?

  • In person
  • NED only
  • Online

June 14 – November 16 BST

In collaboration with Deloitte, this effective roundtable format gives NED members the opportunity to discuss their companies’ net zero plans, how they will be implemented, and how they could be challenged, with their peers. Both in-person and online options are available – see the full list of available sessions below.

In collaboration with Deloitte, we are running a number of roundtables to give members a safe space for open discussion. They will be particularly useful for NEDs who are newer to assessing and challenging corporate net zero ambitions and plans, as well as those further along the journey.

The sessions will include the use of a case study, prepared by Deloitte, which will set out a fictional company’s ambition and plan to help position the discussion. This will then be used to encourage attendees to reflect on their own plans and identify questions that they can ask their boards and executive teams regarding the organisation’s net zero strategy. Topics covered will likely include the importance of accountability for plans and measures, assessing a company’s level of ambition, and evaluating how climate considerations have been integrated into the core corporate strategy, governance structure and financial forecast.

The in-person roundtables will provide the opportunity to network with fellow non-executive directors in central London.

Each session will follow the same format. Please note that to allow the maximum number of members to partake in these roundtables, each member can only attend one of these sessions.
