Chapter Zero announces new board members: Catherine May and Iain Anderson join the board
Catherine May
Catherine is Chair of Shoreham Port, a trust port on the south coast of England with Ecoport status, and a member of Sustainability and Remuneration & Nomination Committees. She is Chair of ENO Trust, a charity supporting English National Opera.
Formerly, Catherine’s non-executive roles have included serving as Senior Independent Director of South Staffs Water/Cambridge Water plc, a private-equity-owned water-only company supplying 1.6m customers across two distinct geographies, where she was also the Chair of the Remuneration Committee, and a member of the Nominations and ESG Committees at South Staffs. She also served on the board of Pensions UK, where she chaired the Remunerations and Nominations Committee. Catherine was a founding member of Chapter Zero.
“It is a privilege to be joining the board of an organisation that has been such a great source of inspiration and knowledge for my work as a non-executive over the last seven years. I look forward to working actively with the team to further the Chapter Zero vision and help our UK businesses take action to manage and minimise the challenges of climate change,” said Catherine.
Catherine brings a wealth of experience to Chapter Zero, particularly in relation to governance and corporate culture.
Iain Anderson
Iain is a portfolio non-executive and investor. He is chair of Agentiv-X, Lead Independent NED of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association and serves on the board of the Department for Business and Trade as a non-executive. He is Chair of the Great British Energy Aberdeen Taskforce, a member of the Competitiveness Advisory Board of the City of London Corporation and a NED of the University of St Andrews.
Further, Iain is Chair of the Fintech Strategy Group, which is supported by Innovate Finance and the City of London Corporation. He is also a NED of Innovate Finance and the Chair of the board of the John Smith Centre, as well as Advisory Council Member of the Institute of Business Ethics.

Iain is a seasoned board member and Chair with huge and valuable experience across the public and private sectors as well as charity and education. He is especially experienced in energy transition and finance.
