Agency in transition: board leadership in a dependent world

A credible transition plan is one that acknowledges that no company operates in isolation. Credibility depends on mapping and addressing external dependencies that determine ongoing resilience to climate and nature shocks: supply chains, policy shifts, finance, technology readiness, infrastructure, biodiversity health. The IPBES assessment endorsed by over 150 governments confirms these interacting threats are now systemic risks for supply chains and financial stability, and as such should form a key part of any board-approved transition plan.

To explore how focusing on dependencies across the global economy makes a transition plan genuinely credible, join Chapter Zero and Chapter Zero Alliance on Thursday 25 June at 2pmfor a 3-hour workshop for board-level leaders during London Climate Action Week 2026.

James Vaccaro, CEO of RePattern and Senior Associate, Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, will facilitate the session — combining practical frameworks, Chapter Zero's new board briefing, in partnership with WBCSD, and an open discussion of real-world challenges.

You will leave with sharper strategic clarity and a concrete sense of where to act on the dependencies that will shape your organisation's future.

Please note this event is invitation-only, and places are limited. Please contact us at events@chapterzero.org.uk to request an invitation to attend.
