Our Financial Times #netzero series

To tackle climate change every business needs a net zero plan. Our advert series highlights the role of the board in making this happen.

Every board has a vital role to play in making sure that their business has a plan for the pathway towards the Government’s net zero target. We’re running a series of full page adverts in the Financial Times to put the spotlight on the power that boards can have to get UK business as close to net zero emissions as possible.

The advert spaces have been donated by the Financial Times as part of a New Agenda Partnership, following the launch of their Climate Capital Hub.

Our #netzero series

The main message is:

To tackle climate change every business needs a net zero plan. Boards have a vital role to play in making that happen. At Chapter Zero we enable our community of non-executive directors to take this essential climate discussion into the boardroom.

Throughout 2021 we’re working with some of the UK’s most recognisable businesses across a range of sectors. Using this series of adverts we’ll highlight the breadth of companies who have a net zero plan and showcase their commitment to achieving them.

At Chapter Zero we’re committed to helping our non-executive director members discuss the risks and opportunities of climate change in the boardroom and further net zero plans with their businesses. If you want to become a member you can sign up here.

Have you seen them?

Watch out for the adverts in print editions of the Financial Times between now and the critically important COP26 climate negotiations in Glasgow in November. The series began in September 2023 with a session providing an overview of the interaction between climate change, legal issues and business, and then focusing on legacy risks to companies, including litigation, and how they can be mitigated. Below is a summary of the second session which explored the landscape of legal issues that organisations face in daily operations and when implementing climate strategy, identifying key legal considerations at the forefront of transition planning.

The second session, held on 21 September, explored how non-executive directors can navigate the net zero transition to shape and implement credible climate strategies. We have summarised below the key takeaways of this event.
